W CREW MIDLAYER JACKET is rated 4.8333 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fitted & Warm I love all aspects of this midlayer jacket. It wears true to what HH describes; "warm, women's cut, windproof." It's a versatile jacket for performance and style. It's also very lightweight, which makes it the perfect jacket for traveling. The soft, thin fleece interior allows for both warmth and comfort, while the exterior of the jacket is wind and rain proof. Due to its fitted cut, this jacket is very flattering. The pockets are equally warm for your hands. I love the tall collar; it's both functional and fun with the HH logo screened on. I can zip the jacket all the way up and it does not fit too tight around my neck. I am 5' 8" with slightly broad shoulders, and relatively long arms. The size Medium is perfect in sleeve length and torso length. You can tighten up the sleeves with a velcro strap or leave them loose. I wore this jacket on a windy, misty morning while sailing to Cape Lookout with my husband, and it kept me warm, cozy and dry! I can't wait to wear it more and more as the temperatures start to dip and we go on longer weekend cruises exploring North Carolina's coast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Midlayer Jacket August 9th, 2015 Outer Island race in Chester Nova Scotia, approximately a 5 hour race, raining with a constant down pour , mostly light winds with a temperature of plus 16-17., speed 7+- knots. Crewing on a 36ft C&C named Bazinga out of the Nova Scotia Royal Yacht Club. I wore the midlayer with only a t-shirt underneath for five hours under constant rainfall with only a few quick breaks down below. I noticed most crew were changing often with wet shirts underneath other well known brand jackets, I checked to see if I was wet underneath several times and to the very end of the race the rain did not penetrate this jacket , nor did water run down my neck and most of all I did not feel the wind or have chills. I highly recommend this jacket . I did test it under more extreme wet weather than usual, the jacket says it is meant for moderate weather conditions. The outside of the jacket retained wetness but again it did not penetrate the inner layer, my only suggestion would to be make the pockets on the front of the jacket as waterproof as the inside jacket pocket. I raced for several more days and still this jacket proved to be beyond my expectations. Well done Helly Hansen. Suzanne Bowser Kapsalis

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm and comfortable jacket I have worn this jacket in a few different weather situations, cool evenings and windy and rainy days. For how light the jacket is, it is very warm. It is wind and water proof and I when found myself hunkered down on a coach boat in a downpour, I stayed completely dry, with the exception of water coming through the wrists whenever I held my hands or arms up. The jacket is very fitted and may run a little small. When I had my foul weather bibs on under it it was a bit snug. Overall, I really enjoy this jacket and will be wearing it on the water all season!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this jacket! I had been looking for a better mid layer for sailing. I sail on San Francisco bay where the weather can be warm one minute and cold the next as the wind increases. I purchased this jacket to use as a mid-layer jacket and found that it can be the only jacket I use sometimes. It is lightweight, windproof and warm. It allows me freedom to move and work the boat as I need to without getting in the way or bunching up. I can easily put it under my foul weather jacket without it being bulky. Then when it gets warm I simply remove the outer jacket and now my mid layer becomes the outer jacket. It is perfect. I used to use a fleece as a mid-layer but could not use that as an outer layer. It was quite a hassle to work the layers. Now it is a breeze! The jacket is very comfortable and stylish to wear before, during and after sailing. So you have performance and style all in one! My very few cons: It is water resistant on the outside but watch when sitting down. I had taken some water over the side and since I was sitting the water made its way into the jacket on the inside (oh and I forgot to zip a pocket) so it got wet, it took a while to dry. That is not the jacket's fault but a note to help you stay dry. I will tuck it inside my bibs next time I when it starts getting rough and may get some waves. I also got the white jacket which looks great! I feel great wearing it and get tons of complements! I just do not know how to keep it clean. I am on working sail boats and find it got dirty pretty fast and have tried to sponge it off and get the dirt out but that hasn't worked so well. Overall I love this jacket, love the fleece lining, love the wind proof and water resistant layer it is. Can be an outer layer or mid layer as you need. A male friend of mine saw my jacket and got one of his own and loves his too. Great Jacket!
