HIGHLANDS JACKET is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Suberb Jacket Helly Hansen Highlands Jacket. The Highlands Jacket has lived up to the high standards of a Helly Hansen product. As a Photojournalist I need a jacket that looks sharp but also is built to withstand abuse. Over the last month I’ve had a chance to wear my Highlands Jacket trekking through the forest, riding boats and climbing rock faces to capture images of water bombers battling forest fires. The Highlands Jacket has been with me shooting video of Manitoba’s newly elected Premier taking office as well as a meeting with Justin Trudeau, Canada’s Prime Minister. A common problem with jackets for Photojournalists is the constant friction between the jacket and the camera and tripod. Most of my jackets wear out along the side or even rip as a result of the contact. I’ve purposely been harsh on the Highlands jacket and there’s still not the slightest sign of damage from my gear. My favorite thing about the Highlands Jacket is its structure and form. I need to be ready for any type of weather or condition, indoors and out. I’ve been storing the Highlands Jacket in a container with all my other gear in the back of my truck. Even after a week of sitting in a hot truck crumpled up in a box, it retains it’s clean lines and remains looking sharp. My review is five out of five. The Highlands Jacket is dressy enough to wear to any event in the city and functional enough to trek through the back country. It should go without saying but it also kept me dry in the rain. A fantastic jacket I encourage everyone to buy. Jamie Dowsett

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Survived a beating This jacket survived everything I could throw at it - heavy rain in Iceland, strong winds in Barcelona, fashion police in Paris and most intense of all... a 1 year old's baby food. I recently took this jacket on a trip through Iceland, Paris, Barcelona and Dubai and chose to bring it for its durability and style. The jacket did not let me down. I managed to stay dry and comfortable during spring conditions in Iceland and still looked like I "fit in" when I arrived in Paris. I was most impressed by the jacket's ability to repel water, my family and I ended up in some very wet conditions where everything was dry from the waist up (should have brought some HH pants with me). Overall - stoked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome all around rain jacket I've had this for about a month. My favorite rain jacket I've ever owned. Great looking and waterproof- love the cut and features. Rugged but stylish and wearable inside unlike every other rain jacket I've had. Water beads on the outer material but inside the jacket is soft and really comfortable. Best for me are the wrist snaps ( loose or tight) and I love the front pockets are accessible from the snap front and also from the sides. A lot of thought went into this jacket - the cut is more on the slim side which feels current. I'm 6'1 180 and a large is a perfect fit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite jacket A serious rain coat! This has quickly become my new favorite jacket. In the short time that I've had it I got to wear it in sleet, rain, & wind & snow. I particularly love the fit of this coat. I never liked wearing a typical rain coat. They are typically stiff & not well fitted. They feel more like bags than coats. This actually fits like a nice jacket! It compliments your shape instead of making you feel like you're wearing a trash bag. The jacket is warm enough to wear on a cool morning. Since it is waterproof, it can tend to get a little warm once the temperature warms up too much. I really like the front button pockets. They worked great to keep my cell phone dry, even in horizontal rain. I really appreciated that in addition to the front button pockets, there are also side pockets available to put your hands in. The material in these pockets is soft & comfortable, not the typical rain jacket pocket. The fold away hood is awesome! It rolls up into a compact pocket around the collar without feeling bulky. I quickly forgot I had it, until I needed it. The hood features a great mesh lining to keep air moving around your head, helping you stay dry. The cinching mechanism for the hood is well thought out. It's not the typical draw string system. There are no spring/button mechanisms. It's a clever system that looks like it will last longer than the typical spring loaded ones. It holds the hood cinched down without having to fumble around. When cinched in, the hood forms a little "awning" over your eyes to keep rain off your face. It's a small design feature that really makes a huge difference in the rain! If there is one thing I would change about this jacket is to add a zipper mesh vent somewhere on the side or the front like some of my other HH coats. This would really help keep the jacket cooler in warm summer rain as it can get a little stuffy inside once the temperature gets into the 70s. This jacket definitely is better for cooler climates. I would not want to wear this in summer rains in Florida, for instance as it would get pretty warm.
